Many children from TBI take the opportunity over the summer to attend URJ Camp Newman in Santa Rosa. During the week long sessions kids not only do all of the typical camp activities, but they also meet other Jewish kids from northern California, learn Jewish songs, participate in team building activities, and gain a different understanding of what it means to be Jewish.
Guiding principles of Camp Newman include Tikkun Olam (bettering our world) through Tikkun Middot (bettering ourselves); Gimilute Chasadim (acts of loving kindness); Betzelem Elohim (all humans are created in a divine image); Talmud Torah (love of learning for learning sake); Ahavat Israel (love of Israel).
