Yom Shishi, 29 Sivan 5777
Friday, June 23, 2017

Yom Ha'Shoah, or Holocaust Remembrance Day is celebrated on the anniversary of the beginning of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising. On this date we remember all who were lost during the Holocaust: the 6 million Jews and 5 million other 'undesirables' - Gypsies, political prisoners, homosexuals, as well as the physically and mentally infirm.

We commemorate this day in a varitey of ways. Some years our rabbis have brought in material for us to study and discuss, last year Rabbi Jeremy brought a rescued Torah and told us its very moving story. We also put on a one day mini-museum event at the Shasta County Library which is open to the public.
