Applesauce Cake

Ingredients

  • ½ c margarine or butter
  • Scant cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c nuts
  • 1 c raisins
  • 1 c fruit (optional)
  • 1 ½ c applesauce
  • ½ t cinnamon
  • ¼ t cloves
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 2 c flour
  • 2 t soda

Directions

  1. Cream margarine and sugar together.

  2. Add the egg and vanilla and beat well.

  3. Add applesauce.

  4. Sift together all dry ingredients and add to the wet mixture.

  5. Pour into a well greased bread pan. Bake for one hour at 350.
